I have just started building a direct drive steering system based on the OSW project opensimwheel.wikidot.com/

Machining the Wheel boss tomorrow hopefully, the Drivelock fits inside the rear of the boss and bolts through, Ill post pics of the assembly as soon as its done
I can make the STEP files available if anybody wants them

The Motor and cables came today 5 Days delivery as promised paid £14 in duty bargain

This could be what we have been waiting for, with the help of a few good folks in the Sim community Granite devices have just announced the release of the SimuCUBE

Everything you need in one tidy little package :), It should be about £150 cheaper than using the ARGON Drive and the Discovery board is no longer required

I will be following this thread too. I have been thinking about this for sometime now, after having a T300 gte wheel I need that servo motor back in my life, I know the T300 is nothing like the OSW but its still amazing :)

Great that you will share this with us. I was also thinking of building a proper wheel myself because my G25 is really becoming more crappy every time i race.
With my new job i have access to some great hardware and software that i probably can use to build something really special.
